WHY GET READY NOW?

Whistleblowing rules
are set for a rethink.
Get your business ready.

South Africa’s proposed Protected Disclosures Bill, 2026 would bring more detailed rules for handling reports and protecting the people who speak up.

PROPOSED BILL · NOT YET LAW

There’s already a duty to have a process. The current Protected Disclosures Act requires employers to have internal reporting procedures and tell employees and workers how to use them.

What the draft proposes

01

A named person to receive reportsClear responsibility for receiving a disclosure and taking the next step.

02

Anonymous reporting and confidentialityProcedures that explain how people can report anonymously and how their identity will be protected.

03

Tighter response time framesMore detailed steps for acknowledging, reviewing and following up on disclosures.

DutyDesk is designed to help you put the reporting channel, careful identity handling and response process in place—so you can prepare before any new rules take effect.

Draft provisions may change. Using DutyDesk does not by itself guarantee legal compliance. Status checked 5 September 2026.

SIMPLE FROM THE START

They speak up.
You move forward.

You don’t need a big HR department.
You need a process people can trust,
and a clear way to respond.

01

Your team speaks up.

A simple way to report theft, unsafe work or other wrongdoing. They can choose to leave their name out.

02

We handle it carefully.

Identity details are kept separate from the case. A person checks the report before it goes to your nominated contact.

03

You know what to do next.

Your business gets a clear report, response reminders and a record of the steps taken. You decide how to act.

MORE THAN AN INBOX

One desk.
The whole process.

From the first concern to the follow-up, DutyDesk helps keep the important things from falling through the cracks.

Built around your business

Careful handling of identities

Identity information is kept separate and is not shared with your business by default.

Reports and response reminders

Understand what was raised, who needs to respond and what needs attention.

Staff notices and a clear paper trail

Explain the process to your team and keep a record of reports, access and actions.
